AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiev partook in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on humanitarian situation in Afghanistan on December 19 in Islamabad.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hajiev stressed the particular importance of providing humanitarian aid to people of Afghanistan. He said Turkmenistan trucks humanitarian aid to Afghanistan regularly. The last was sent on December 14. Sent aid included oil products, foodstuff, and children's clothing.
The OIC Foreign Ministers agreed to continue economic cooperation in order to improve humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, implementation of major energy, transport and communication projects, such as the TAPI gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission line.
