U.S. deeply concerned by renewed violence on Kyrgyz-Tajik border

AKIPRESS.COM - The U.S. is deeply concerned by renewed violence on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, U.S. Department Spokesperson Ned Price said.

"Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and those displaced by the violence," he added.

"We call for a negotiated solution to outstanding border issues and a commitment to peaceful co-existence," Ned Price concluded.

On January 27, Tajik troops opened fire into the duty station of internal troops of Kyrgyzstan at the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. A house of the Kyrgyz citizen was burnt as a result of fire opened by Tajik military personnel.
