Boeing announces suspension of support for Russian airlines

AKIPRESS.COM - American aviation giant Boeing will temporarily halt technical support and supply of spare parts for Russian airlines, Kommersant reported.

"We have suspended major operations in Moscow and temporarily closed our office in Kyiv," a Boeing spokesperson said.

"We are also suspending parts, maintenance and technical support services for Russian airlines. As the conflict continues, our teams are focused on ensuring the safety of our teammates in the region."

Russia started military operation in Ukraine last week. Western countries imposed sanctions on Russia, including on air space: Russian planes can't flt over EU, UK and Canada.

In connection with sanctions, new supplies, technical support and insurance of all planes is prohibited. Leased planes should be returned to leaseholders within a month.
