AKIPRESS.COM - King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank inaugurated the mobile medical units in Tajikistan, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Matlubakhon Sattoriyon; Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan Walid bin Abdurrahman Al-Rashidan; Tajik Minister of Health And Social Protection, Jamal Al-Din Abdullah and a number of officials, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the audience were briefed on the equipment of the mobile medical units, which contain 5 specialized medical clinics, support trailers and an ambulance.

For his part, Director of the Humanitarian Programs Sector at King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Janfawi explained that the mobile medical units in Tajikistan - one of the achievements of the Foundation's Fael Khair Program - provide five mobile clinics to the beneficiary areas, serving more than 700,000 people in Tajikistan throughout five years, at a cost of $18 million.

He further said that since its launch, the project has been working to provide health services in 7 Asian countries in rural areas, by establishing 75 mobile medical clinics, and subsidizing the costs of medicines and medical supplies for people with acute and chronic diseases, to serve nearly 6 million people in those countries.
