Mongolia receives first batch of Pfizer pediatric vaccines

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia received the first batch of 302,400 doses of 1.3 mln doses of Pfizer pediatric vaccines from the COVAX Facility.

Vaccines will be used for vaccination of children aged 5-11 with a parental consent, Montsame reports.

Pediatric vaccines for children aged 5-11 were donated by the United States government and delivered through UNICEF.

Since June of 2021, UNICEF Mongolia has supported the government of Mongolia with procurement of 2.5 mln doses of Pfizer vaccines sponsored by the government of Japan and 1.3 mln more doses under the support of COVAX and US government.

Nearly 90 percent of vaccines used for booster immunization purposes were Pfizer vaccines procured by UNICEF Mongolia.
