Kyrgyzstan has evacuated over 136,000 from border conflict zone

AKIPRESS.COM - More than 136,000 were evacuated from the Kyrgyz-Tajik border conflict zone, Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

These are residents of Batken district, Batken town, Leilek district, Razzakov town.

Around 2,800 were evacuated from Jekendi village of Chon Alay district of Osh region to Daroot-Korgon and Kashka-Suu.

Evacuees are provided with food, hygiene products, bed linen. Five humanitarian aid collection points were opened in Bishkek and in Osh.

The State Reserves Fund sent fuel, flour, sugar, cooking oil to Batken region.

FAO expressed readiness to provide humanitarian aid in form of 400 tons of food products.

Workers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Red Crescent, Doctors without Borders provide medical and psychological assistance to citizens.
