Border delimitation issues prerogative of governmental commission for delimitation, border agencies of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan say

AKIPRESS.COM - The command of the Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan and Border Troops of Tajkistan said in a joint statement that the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is stable.

"For the purpose of compliance with and reinforcement of reached agreements, with the purpose of prevention of possible provocations on the border, the meeting of the heads of border guard agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was held on October 21," the statement said.

The heads of the border guard services of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan found it necessary to ramp up timely efforts on de-escalation of the situation on the border, to strictly adhere to the line of conduct by border guards of two countries.

The sides confirmed a strong commitment to principles of mutual respect, peaceful co-existence, good neighborly relations and solidarity in terms of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders.

The sides agreed to regularly hold meetings of joint working groups, which are actively involved into normalizaiton of the situation on the border.

The Border Guard Service of Kyrgyzstan and Border Troops of Tajikistan said the border delimitation is prerogative of governmental commissions for delimitation and demarcation of the state border.

The heads of border guard agencies of two countries urged media outlets and unauthorized persons to refrain from any comments, spread of statements and interpretation of the events that may lead to escalation of the conflict, incitement of hatred between two nations. Any unsanctioned statements are seen as attempt to destabilize the situation on the border between two countries, the statement said.
