AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the upper house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was awarded with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on November 3.
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of Turkmen-Russian cooperation. The President of Russia stated that the interstate ties are actively developing as well with the arrival of new President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The award was given to Berdimuhamedov for "his great personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries", the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
