
AKIPRESS.COM - Voting in the presidential elections ended in most regions of Kazakhstan, with the exception of the western regions. The turnout was 69.31% as of 8:00 pm, Secretary of the Central Election Commission Mukhtar Yerman said during a briefing.
"8,282,607 citizens have received ballots across the country at 8:00 pm, which is 69.31% of all those included in the voting lists," Yerman noted.
The lowest turnout remained in Almaty (28.72%), in Astana (48.67%), in Shymkent (59.79%), vlast.kz reported.
Most voters voted in Jetisu region (81.43%), in Turkestan region (80.37%), in Kyzylorda region (80.31%) and in Abai region (80.18%).
The turnout was 79.28% in Kostanai region, 79.57% in Jambyl region, 79.49% in Eastern Kazakhstan region, 78.87% in Akmola region, 78.39% in Karaganda region, 78.24% in Northern Kazakhstan region, 77.58% in Pavlodar region, 75.48% in Ulytau region, 72.20% in Aktobe region, 72.10% in Almaty region, 70.87% in Atyrau region.
The voting will end at 9:00 pm (local time) in the western regions of the country.
