AKIPRESS.COM - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev took part in the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the format "Central Asia - China" in Xi'an on April 27, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
During the meeting, which was attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China, priority issues of interaction between the states of Central Asia and China were discussed, and topical areas for further partnership were outlined.
The participants noted the important role of cooperation in the "CA - China" format in the context of intensifying joint efforts aimed at strengthening the constructive partnership on a wide range of issues.
The Foreign Deputy Minister of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the closeness and coincidence of approaches to the regional and global agenda provide a unique opportunity to develop modern tools for further establishing cooperation between Central Asian countries and China.
The parties also exchanged views on the agenda of the first Summit of the "Central Asia - China" format to be held in May this year.
The Information Communiqué on the fourth meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the "CA - China" format and the protocol of the meeting were signed after the event.
