AKIPRESS.COM - The forum “Agro Exporter” aimed at promoting exports of agricultural products and linking Kyrgyz agricultural producers with external markets will be held in Bishkek on May 12. The forum is organized with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with Predprinimatel LLC.

The forum is expected to gather over 200 farmers, entrepreneurs and representatives of business associations to discuss key issues in promoting the export of Kyrgyz agricultural products and establish direct links with potential buyers from Uzbekistan. Agricultural enterprises from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will also have an opportunity to discuss potential deals at business-to-business meetings.

This forum is organized as part of USAID’s Agro Trade project. Over the last three years, USAID has sponsored the participation of more than 30 Kyrgyz companies in international exhibitions, has engaged more than 100 Kyrgyz companies in forums and business-to-business meetings with partners from Uzbekistan. This helped them establish business linkages with Uzbek companies and increase the export of Kyrgyz agricultural products.

The USAID Agro Trade project is a five-year project that promotes job creation and increases the incomes of Kyrgyz farmers and agribusinesses by strengthening value chains, leading to increased regional and cross-border trade with Uzbekistan.
