AKIPRESS.COM - The yards of 41 residential buildings were flooded as a result of mudflows in Alai district of Osh region. The on-farm roads and the water supply system were damaged.

The mudflows descended in the late afternoon of June 21.

Houses that have suffered from mudflows are being cleaned in Terek village, head of the rural municipality Anarbek Kulov says.

Mud streams descended at 11 sites. On-farm roads were blocked, traffic was suspended. Special equipment from the rural municipality and the Department of Emergency Situations was involved to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster on the night of June 21 to June 22. The road was cleared and traffic was partially restored.

Work is underway on the bridge to the hospital in Sopu-Korgon village. Shore protection works are being carried out as well, gabion nets are being laid on a 200-meter section.
