
AKIPRESS.COM - The opening of the 3rd international ethno-festival Taigan Fest took place at the archaeological and architectural complex Burana Tower on June 27, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy reported.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Ainura Askarova at the opening ceremony highlighted the importance of preserving the taigan as an element of national heritage.
Currently, work is underway to promote the nomination "Knowledge and skills of the Taigan craft" to the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage together with the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO in order to popularize the Taigan at the international level.
Exhibitions, fairs, auctions, national games, Taigan race and concert programs were held at the festival. A cynological exhibition "Taigan chubatuu" was also organized.
The ethno-festival is organized jointly with the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the administration of Chui district of Chui region, the public fund "Resources for Youth Development" and the public association "Kyrgyz Taigan Club".
