
AKIPRESS.COM - A total of 84 migrants have been rescued in the Aegean Sea off the coast of Ayvacik district in the northwestern Turkish province of Canakkale, the Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan reports.
Rubber boats with people from Afghanistan were expelled by the Greek side to the territorial waters of Turkey.
The Turkish coast guard received a signal at 4:50 am local time on July 1 that there was an inflatable boat with many refugees off the coast of Ayvacik district.
The boat TCSG-6 of the Turkish coast guard was sent to the place. 37 people were rescued.
The second signal came on the same day at 12:24 pm local time. Rescuers on boats KB-20 and KB-4304 moved out to the designated area, and saved 47 migrants.
After passing the relevant procedures, all 84 migrants were taken to the local migration department.
