Life in Rural Kyrgyzstan: Mini-yurt of forty bars constructed by Naryn man

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazybek Mamyrkanov, a resident of Naryn region, constructed a mini yurt using forty bars.

He works at Vocational Lyceum No. 87.

He set up the yurt to teach schoolchildren and his grandchildren about traditional yurt installation.

Mamyrkanov's son is also involved in craftsmanship. He shared his aspiration to create various Kyrgyz products and promote the preservation of cultural traditions.

Mamyrkanov previously assisted in setting up a yurt made of 120 bars for a contest at the World Nomad Games in 2016.

"Numbers 40 and 7 have significance among Kyrgyz people. Many proverbs and folk tales are related to them. That is why I took it as a basis and assembled a yurt of forty bars. Previously, I participated in contests to decorate the exterior and interior of the yurt. In 2016 World Nomad Games, the grand prize was won by Jamby Karybekova, who presented a yurt made of 120 bars. That's when I helped her put up the yurt," the man concluded.
