AKIPRESS.COM - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on July 15 received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived on a visit to the Turkmen capital to participate in bilateral inter-MFA consultations, the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported.
Berdimuhamedov noted that the political consultations with Turkmen colleagues planned during the current visit of Foreign Minister of Tajikistan would provide an opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral dialogue, expressing confidence that their results would serve to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries.
The importance of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which will be held in September this year in Dushanbe, were noted.
The sides expressed confidence that the upcoming high-level meetings will become a significant contribution to strengthening and expanding interaction between the countries of the Central Asian region.
In the context of the multifaceted Turkmen-Tajik partnership, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the dynamics of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, cultural, educational, transport and other areas, emphasizing the readiness for further joint work to utilize the existing potential.
