AKIPRESS.COM - Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN Jonibek Hikmat on August 7 held a meeting with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Central Asia, newly appointed Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kakha Imnadze, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.

The parties exchanged views on development prospects of the cooperation between Tajikistan and the UNRCCA. They discussed water and climate issues, peace and security of the region, in particular the situation in Afghanistan.

In addition, the importance and necessity of further strengthening of cooperation within the framework of the Dushanbe Water Process and Dushanbe Process on Counter-Terrorism and its Financing were emphasized during the meeting.
