Flood sensors to be installed in 20 places in Ulaanbaatar

AKIPRESS.COM - Department of Urban Development and Construction provided an information on canceling the architectural planning of 1,600 buildings. Land Department of Ulaanbaatar city provided an information on location of households at risk of flooding and the places prepared for their relocation, the results of a survey of 86 locations at risk of flooding, and information on construction issues such as "S Outlets" and "Aqua Garden".

Governor of Ulaanbaatar Sumyaabazar Dolgorsuren made a report on current affairs. He spoke about installing automatic flood sensors in 20 places with a high risk of flooding. The sensors are activated 2 hours before the flood, which could assist in preventing potential disasters.

"In particular, 8,138 hectares of land may be affected by the flood in the areas of Naran River, Baruun Salaa, Zuun Salaa, Uliastai River, and Selbe. There are 75 gullies with natural formations, and we faced the fact that they were repaired to be roads. According to scientists' forecasts, 60-70 mm of rain is expected to fall at once. By providing information in advance, households will be mobilized and emergency services will be available," he said.
