The FAO Director-General congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on the successful implementation of the initiative and the organization at the highest level of an international forum on the current global agenda.
The sides exchanged views on countering modern challenges and threats to food security, including at the regional level.
Imbalances in the development of the agricultural sector, shortage of water resources, long and inefficient value chains, failures in logistics, and others were defined as the principal risks of sustainable development.
The parties reached an agreement to include joint measures to modernize agriculture based on scientific research and innovation, digitalization of the agricultural sector, the implementation of effective financial support tools, and the introduction of effective mechanisms for managing the agri-food system in the new 2030 Cooperation Program between Uzbekistan and FAO.
