Uzbekistan and World Bank develop project on road infrastructure

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Committee of Uzbekistan for Roads hosted a meeting with the World Bank delegation members, UzA reports.

The sides discussed issues of modernization of the Tashkent-Andijan toll road based on the public-private partnership model implemented within the framework of the project on the development of regional highways of local importance.

Chairman of the Committee Jamshid Tursunov considered issues related to the development of the industry with Practice Manager of the World Bank for Transport in Europe and Central Asia Shomik Raj Mehndiratta, and other delegation members.

The parties exchanged views on the development of legal documents based on the norms of national legislation, the gradual increase in the private sector's share in road infrastructure development, and the four-stage pilot project to be implemented.
