Ulaanbaatar - Tianjin Trade and Investment Forum takes place

AKIPRESS.COM - Ulaanbaatar - Tianjin Trade and Investment Forum was held on September 20. Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D. Sumiyabazar, Vice Mayor of Tianjin Zhu Peng and representatives of the business sectors of the two cities participated in the forum.

"Tianjin is the closest coastal city to Mongolia, and most of our country's exports and imports pass through Tianjin Port. Ulaanbaatar and Tianjin can cooperate in fields of international transportation of freight, trade, technology, education and culture. We are confident that the agreements and memorandums concluded between the parties at today's forum will develop solutions to many social and economic problems facing the city of Ulaanbaatar and will make a valuable contribution to the development of the country," Mayor of Ulaanbaatar D. Sumiyabazar said.

Vice Mayor of Tianjin Zhu Peng said that Ulaanbaatar and Tianjin have been cooperating in many fields such as road transport, agriculture, tourism, health and humanitarian since the establishment of sister-city relations, GoGoMongolia reports.

He expressed belief that the economic cooperation between the two cities will be further strengthened and brought to a new level by implementing the program to expand the economy of the northern region, raise the processing industry to a higher level, improve the quality of life of the citizens, and expand the regional and economic relations of the port.

The government and private sector organizations of the two cities signed the memorandums of cooperation during the forum. A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Tianjin Eco City Project Steering Committee, Satellite City, and the Special Economic Zone Development Department of Ulaanbaatar. The practices of Tianjin in the construction of a smart and eco-city in the capital's satellite cities and special economic zones will be studied as part of the agreeemnt, and the capacity of human resources will be strengthened.
