MP raises alarm over shortage of doctors in Naryn region

AKIPRESS.COM - Winter in Naryn region is very severe, the temperature in At-Bashy district reaches -40 °C, said MP Zhyldyz Sadyrbaeva at a meeting of the Parliament on October 19.

According to her, the salaries of doctors and nurses in remote areas of Naryn do not cover the monthly cost of coal, and families buy 10 tons of coal each. The salary is barely enough for only 2 tons of coal.

"There are no doctors left in Ak-Tala. Only nurses came to meet with the MPs. 126 vacancies are open in Naryn region for doctors. We need to quickly resolve the issue of wages and social issues, or the region will be left without doctors," she noted.

The average salary for medical workers is 10,000 soms, for doctors 15,000 soms, which is very little, Sadyrbaeva added. She asked for subsidies for doctors so they could buy coal.
