Issyk-Kul man cultivates gigantic one-meter pumpkin

AKIPRESS.COM - A resident of the village of Saruu, Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region, Turarbek Janbolatov, grew a pumpkin that is about one meter long.

Erlan Bektenov, a resident of the village of Kyzyl-Suu, said that Janbolatov breeds Californian earthworms in his pen located in the Juuku gorge. The biohumus produced by these worms is used in growing pumpkins.

"I visited Janbolatov's pen and saw a huge pumpkin grown by him. In general, his pumpkins reach a length of 80-90 cm and weigh up to 15 kg," noted Bektenev.
