AKIPRESS.COM - State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia N. Ankhbayar met with the Assistant Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Weldon Epp on Nivember 7, Montsame said.

State Secretary N. Ankhbayar emphasized that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Canada. He noted that Mongolia attaches great importance to expanding trade and economic relations and strengthening cooperation in agriculture, education, environment, and tourism with Canada.

Assistant Deputy Minister Weldon Epp expressed satisfaction in visiting Mongolia and taking part in the Mongolia-Canada Round Table Meeting as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in other sectors, except mining.

The two sides also exchanged views on opportunities for cooperation within the framework of the "Asia-Pacific Strategy," announced by the government of Canada in 2022.

Assistant Deputy Minister Weldon Epp will lead the Canadian delegation to the 10th Mongolian-Canadian Round Table Meeting, which will be held in Ulaanbaatar on November 9.
