AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the National Committee for Port Revival Tulga Buya participated in the "Transport Week" international forum and presented the port revival policy on November 8, Montsame reported.
Tulga Buya stated that the implementation of the Port Revival Policy will enable the expansion of port capacity by three times, the doubling of railway and highway network capacity, and the doubling of active airport capacity.
"Under a phased approach, we aim to achieve a total export value of $14 billion by the end of the first phase (2022-2024), reach $17 billion by the end of the second phase (2025-2028), and further boost total exports to $20 billion by 2029 through comprehensive infrastructure development, including improvements to both hard and soft infrastructure for passenger and cargo vehicle as well as expansion of port capacity," he stated.
In addition, the land ports of Altanbulag, Zamyn-Uud, Sainshand, and Ulaanbaatar are being developed. This framework will involve building 2,966 kilometers of highways.
Within the framework of the "Port Revival" initiative, the Port Act and related laws are being developed and approved. Additionally, a financial mechanism and implementation structure for port self-development will be created.
