AKIPRESS.COM - A military officer was detained by Seoul police on suspicion of sexually assaulting a foreign student while intoxicated, KBS reports.

The Mapo police station in Seoul announced on December 6 that an investigation is ongoing against a military officer at the Ministry of National Defense on charges of sexual harassment.

The officer is accused of holding the hand of a Mongolian student and then touching her body in front of a club in Hongdae, Mapo-gu, Seoul around 8 a.m. on December 4.

The police who responded to the report took the officer to a neighboring district and after an investigation sent him home.

"Mr. A was drunk at the time. After completing the main investigation, we plan to transfer the case to the Seoul Police Agency's Women and Youth Investigation Department," the police spokesperson said.
