
AKIPRESS.COM - The 16th Consultation Meeting and II Strategic Dialogue between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the U.S. State Department were held in Washington on December 12, Montsame reports.
The meeting was chaired by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ankhbayar Nyamdorj and Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. State Department Daniel J. Kritenbrink.
The Consultation had three thematic sessions on strategic dialogue and political relations, trade, economic and development cooperation, humanitarian, people-to-people relations, law enforcement, and educational and cultural cooperation.
Reaffirming that the relations with the U.S. have an important position in Mongolia's foreign policy as a key third neighbor, the sides discussed issues aimed at expanding economic cooperation and exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The parties emphasized the importance of this Consultation Meeting in expanding cooperation and deepening mutual understanding between Mongolia and the USA.
The 17th Consultation Meeting and Strategic Dialogue will be held in Ulaanbaatar in 2024.
