AKIPRESS.COM - A total of 44,831 visa permissions and 40,734 Mongolian visas of appropriate types were issued by the Immigration Agency of Mongolia (IAM) in 2023. 31,242 of them were electronic visas (E-visa). Visa issuance increased three times, and the number of e-visas increased four times compared to last year, Montsame reports.

The Agency issued 23,555 residence permits in Mongolia, and extended 19,488 residence permits, while deregistering 12,658 foreign citizens. The residence permit issuance increased by 2.5 times compared to 2022.

The Mongolian Immigration Agency has been independently printing and issuing residence permit cards to foreign citizens since April 1, 2023. It has printed 34,992 new residence permit cards and extended 4,664 residence permits' validity.

12 types of visa and permit services are available online as a result of digitalizing the visa application process since 2021. IAM received and processed a total of 115,211 applications and requests through the electronic service system in 2023.
