AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan will launch joint production of 12 car models from 2024, Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Daniyar Amangeldiev said.
The Altyn-Tulpar car assembly plant is prepared for launch. This is a joint project with Uzavtosanoat. The designed capacity will be reached next year, Minister Amangeldiev said.
Uzavtosanoat agreed to organize car production in Kyrgyzstan on January 27 during a business forum between the two countries. The concern's partner in the joint venture will be the DT Technik company, Kun.uz reported.
During the first year of operation of the plant, it is expected to produce 10 thousand cars using the large-unit assembly method. In the future, production will be increased to 30 thousand cars and expanded to small-unit production with the localization of some components in Kyrgyzstan.
Construction of a plant for the assembly and production of cars in Chui region began in mid-May. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov called the project “strategically important for both countries”.
