Citizens of Tajikistan who were victims of human trafficking in Myanmar return to homeland

AKIPRESS.COM - Three citizens of Tajikistan, who had been victims of human trafficking in Myanmar, were returned to their homeland on January 20, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan reported.

Their return was coordinated by the Embassy of Tajikistan in Malaysia, the Royal Thai authorities, the Embassy of Myanmar in Malaysia, as well as the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the International Justice Mission (IJM).

The authorities are carrying out rehabilitation and psychological work with the citizens and are taking measures to prevent similar situations in future, the Foreign Ministry notes.
