UK and US Ambassadors express condolences in connection with gas explosion in Ulaanbaatar

AKIPRESS.COM - U.S. and UK Ambassadors to Mongolia expressed condolences in connection with the gas explosion in Ulaanbaatar.

U.S. Ambassador Richard Buangan said that he was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic accident.

"I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the families and colleagues of the NEMA staff members who lost their lives in this devastating event," the Ambassador noted in a social media post.

Richard Buangan wished the injured a speedy recovery and sent condolences to people affected by the incident.

"On behalf of the British embassy I extend my condolences to the NEMA officers who lost their lives during the tragic accident at Dunjingarav. Our thoughts are with the families of all those affected and we wish a fast recovery to those injured in this tragic event," UK Ambassador Fiona Blyth wrote in X (Twitter).

A truck carrying 60 tons of liquefied natural gas exploded in Ulaanbaatar. According to the latest data, six people died in the incident, three of whom were rescuers. 14 people were hospitalized.
