"The event, which resulted from fruitful cooperation between the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association and Germany's Textima Export Import GmbH, was attended by seven leading European textile equipment manufacturers," press secretary of the Uzbekistan Textile and Garment Industry Association Shakhzoda Kuchkarova said.
The parties focused on the development of cooperation and noted that the symposium is an excellent platform for discussing the latest trends and innovations in the textile industry. The sides also signed a memorandum on opening, together with German partners, a technology school that provides training specialists in Uzbekistan and German companies.
Uzbekistan's textile industry is one of the leaders in terms of growth rates of production and export of products, attraction and development of investments. Textile products are sold in more than 70 countries. Their exports reached $3.4 billion as of 2023, and the investment indicator has amounted to $3.2 billion over the past four years.
Uzbekistan textile companies managed to enter Germany's market and triple textile exports, and create production branches of German companies such as Teamdress and Langheinrich in Uzbekistan. The Centrastex Trading House in Nuremberg and the Sustainable Cotton Association in Stuttgart also opened, which will become a business platform for further developing cooperation in the textile sector.
