AKIPRESS.COM - A meeting was held between representatives of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan and the Cultural Heritage Agency with the leadership of the British Museum in London, UzA reported.
During the talks, issues of promoting the culture of Uzbekistan based on the British Museum and establishing cooperation between museums of the two countries were discussed.
In particular, from September 2024 to March 2025, the British Museum will host a large-scale exhibition “The Silk Road”, featuring museum exhibits from Uzbekistan.
Following the meeting, unique exhibits from museum collections in Uzbekistan that will be presented at the exhibition were identified. Among them are wall paintings from the Hall of Ambassadors of Afrasiab, wall paintings from the Red Hall of Varakhsha, a charred wooden panel from Kafir Kala, and other exhibits dating back to the Sogdian period.
