
AKIPRESS.COM - The Lower House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan adopted the law ratifying the agreement between the Kazakh government and the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers on cooperation in aviation search and rescue during a plenary session on Wednesday. This will help countries coordinate disaster response, Vlast.kz reports.
"The agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the search and rescue services of the two states, mutual reporting of aviation accidents and taking measures to search for crashed aircraft, passengers and crews, conducting joint exercises of search and rescue services of both sides and the exchange of information and experience," said Minister of Transport Marat Karabaev.
The agreement also defines the boundaries of search and rescue and mutual assistance. Search and rescue operations will be carried out according to the standards and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
