Uzbekistan's University of World Economy and Diplomacy and JICA discuss cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Chief Representative at the JICA Uzbekistan Office Yoshibumi Bito and Ambassador of Japan Takashi Hatori held a meeting at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), UzA reports.

At the meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament, Rector of UWED Sodik Safoyev, a discussion took place on the prospects for strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Japan and developing a partnership between the JICA representative office and the university.

Sodik Safoyev noted that Japan's experience in modernizing high-quality public administration is essential for the development of Uzbekistan. He also recalled that the university implements student exchange programs with leading education institutions in Japan. In addition, volunteer Japanese language teachers work successfully through JICA.

In turn, Yoshibumi Bito expressed gratitude for the activities of the recently opened Japanese Scientific Analytical Center at UWED.

Following the meeting, the first event took place within the framework of the JICA Chair program (support for creating courses in Japanese studies). Professor of the University of Tsukuba Timur Dadabayev delivered a speech on "The Japanese Miracle: Institutional Factors of Rapid Economic Growth (1955-1975)". He spoke about the development of the Japanese economy after World War II.
