AKIPRESS.COM - The 7th Meeting of the ICAPP Youth Wing kicked off in Ulaanbaatar on February 24. The young leaders of 15 parties from 12 countries such as Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Russia, Turkey, Vietnam, and Uzbekistan and representatives from each country delivered keynote speeches and openly shared the experience of their country.
Speaker of the Parliament of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav delivered a speech at the meeting.
"The Mongolian People's Party has been actively involved in the activities of Asian political parties since 2004. I have been a member of the organization's Standing Committee since 2013. We will be happy to contribute to the development and reform of political parties. Our party strives not only to increase the number of young parliamentarians, but also to create a parliament that includes all representatives of society in the upcoming regular elections. We are also opening up opportunities for youth to participate in politics, policies and decisions," he said.
The Speaker stressed that young people can get involved in politics in many other ways besides participating in elections, voting and being elected to parliament. One of them is digital transformation. The "D-parliament" has recently been introduced to support citizen participation in legislative activities in Mongolia, the Speaker added.
The International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) is an international association of political parties from Asia and Oceania.
