AKIPRESS.COM - The World Food Programme (WFP) said an aid convoy was denied entry to north Gaza by Israel's military, preventing the first attempt by the UN agency to deliver aid there since February 20, Al Jazeera reports.
WFP said there must be road access to Gaza's north to avert famine.
The organization stated in social networks that after a 14-truck convoy was turned away, WFP food for 20,000 people was dropped into northern Gaza with support of the Jordanian Air Forces.
"WFP is determined to do whatever it takes to reach people in need. But to avert famine, we must have access by road," the organization says.
