AKIPRESS.COM - Tashkent hosted a media event “The civilizational potential of Uzbekistan as a soft power mechanism”, UzA reported.
The World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU) and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy organized the event.
Representatives of embassies and international organizations of Uzbekistan attended it.
“The study of cultural heritage is one of the priorities,” says Sodiq Safoyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. “This event is designed to create an important platform for this. Soon, we will sign a document on bilateral cooperation, according to which the rich heritage and history of our country will be explored. We plan to cooperate with foreign scientists”.
It was noted that the project “Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan” aims to communicate to the general public the true values of enlightened Islam as a religion of peace, kindness, and tolerance. One of its goals is to promote education, peacefulness, and creativity.
“No country in the Islamic world has carried out work that fully reveals the epigraphy of historical monuments,” says Firdavs Abdukhalikov. “The project of publishing books-albums of the series “Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan” started in 2010. After studying the messages of our distant ancestors, 16 of the planned 20 volumes were published in Uzbek, Russian, Arabic, and English.
