Actress Michelle Yeoh to support tourism in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Mongolia L.Oyun-Erdene received United Nations Special Envoy for Road Safety Jean Todt on March 27, GoGo reported.

During the 54th World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland in January, the Prime Minister held a meeting with Jean Todt and his wife, Oscar-winning actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Michelle Yeoh, and invited them to visit Mongolia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene thanked for organizing the "United Nations Road Safety Global Campaign" and increasing public awareness of road safety in Mongolia. He also emphasized that Mongolia is working to reform the legal system of road safety, and made proposals to cooperate in attracting investment, providing policy support at the international level, and training experts.

Jean Todt noted that he came to Mongolia to organize the UN campaign for road safety, and mentioned that it is planned to place billboards promoting road safety rules and regulations with the participation of celebrities in about 1,000 cities of over 80 countries. The campaign aims to decrease the number of victims caused by traffic accidents by 2 times by 2030.

Jean Todt also said that he and his wife, Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh, have planned to visit Mongolia, and expressed his readiness to cooperate on supporting tourism in Mongolia within the framework of the "Welcome to Mongolia" and "GoMongolia".
