AKIPRESS.COM - Servicing of Russia's Mir payment cards will be stopped in Kyrgyzstan since April 2, the Interbanking Processing Center said.
"On February 23, the Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on the National System of Payment Cards, operator of Mir payment system cards," the Interbanking Processing Center said.
"In order to minimize the risk of secondary sanctions, the Interbank Processing Center, as a guarantor of the uninterrupted operation of the Elcart national payment system, announces that it will stop servicing Mir bank cards from April 5," the statement said.
Elcard payment cards will stop working in Russia.
"In Kyrgyzstan, Elcart bank cards will continue to be serviced on all banking devices without any restrictions," the statement said.
