AKIPRESS.COM - Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee met with Ambassador of Austria to Mongolia Andreas Riecken and discussed cooperation on April 27, Montsame reported.
Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee said that the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Austria is approaching. The two states have best practices for successfully implementing many projects within the scope of diplomatic relations, he noted.
Nyambaatar Khishgee called traffic congestion the main issue in Ulaanbaatar. He noted that solutions to the issue included the metro project, to which the consultation tender was announced recently, and the "UBCable Car" project.
"By enhancing its economic and legal independence, Ulaanbaatar has also adopted a legal framework for concessions, fostering stronger partnerships between the public and private sectors and issuing securities to generate the required funds for alleviating major development challenges," the mayor stated.
Ambassador of Austria to Mongolia Andreas Riecken expressed readiness to cooperate on health, infrastructure, and public transportation.
The two sides discussed cooperation in introducing eco-friendly technology to Mongolia and sharing good practices in hydroelectricity, energy efficiency, waste management, and recycling.
