AKIPRESS.COM - Chairman of the Parliament of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav received UNIDO Representative Stephen Kargbo on May 14, Montsame reports.
Chairman Zandanshatar expressed gratitude to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization for its support to Mongolia's industrial sector. The Chairman commended the "Export Development" project, implemented in collaboration with the World Bank. This project has been instrumental in providing certification to Mongolian leather processing enterprises and undertaking important work in certifying Halal-prepared meat products.
The Chairman noted that UNIDO, in cooperation with the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, is developing a country program for Mongolia, defining the leading directions for its implementation. The Speaker emphasized the significant importance of this program in bringing animal-origin raw materials into economic circulation, supporting small and medium-sized agricultural production, and creating jobs.
UNIDO Representative Stephen Kargbo mentioned the opportunity to visit the industrial agro-parks in Bayan-Ulgii and Khovd provinces of Mongolia. Highlighting the quick results of the "Export Development" project, Stephen Kargbo added that Mongolian leather processing enterprises now have a new business opportunity to attract foreign businessmen and tourists. He expressed commitment to strengthening cooperation, ensuring the United Nations Industrial Development Organization will provide all-round support to Mongolia's industrial sector.
