AKIPRESS.COM - Director of the International Institute for Central Asia Javlon Vakhabov met with Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan Charlotte Adriaen, UzA reports.
The parties discussed the progress in implementing the agreements reached by the heads of state of the region and the President of the EU at the second 'Central Asia – European Union" summit, which took place in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on June 2, 2023.
On the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the issues of organizing an expert conference "Central Asia – European Union: a new agenda for security cooperation" were considered.
The sides exchanged views on the possibility of developing and launching new regional projects between Central Asia and the EU to combat terrorism, organized crime, and human trafficking and promote cybersecurity.
They also exchanged views on organizing a forum of think tanks to discuss issues of trade and economic cooperation, development of transport corridors, digitalization of the economy, and expansion of tourism.
