Uzbekistan and Russia sign over 20 bilateral documents

AKIPRESS.COM - Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement in Tashkent on May 27 following the talks. 

A series of bilateral documents were signed, including agreements on construction of a small nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, opening of branches of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.

The following documents were signed:

- A joint action plan to expand cooperation in the priority directions of the partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation;

- An intergovernmental agreement to provide technical assistance to Uzbekistan in the field of metrology;

- An intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in joint film production;

- An intergovernmental agreement on collaboration in ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of population;

- An agreement to conduct joint scientific and technological competitions between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation;

- A protocol on amendments to the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of fisheries;

- A cultural cooperation program for 2024-2026;

- A cooperation program aimed at bolster tourism for 2025-2026;

- A joint action plan between the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to increase trade turnover as part of an industrial cooperation expansion for 2024-2030;

- A plan for cooperation in quarantine and plant protection for 2024-2025 between the Quarantine and Plant Protection Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation;

- A memorandum on establishment of a branch of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University;

- Protocols on cooperation in organizing health care and regulatory cooperation in the field of medical products, medical devices, and high-tech medical treatment methods between the Ministries of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation;

- Agreements on cooperation in constructing a small nuclear power plant on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

- An agreement to open a branch of the All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade in Tashkent;

- Documents on cooperation in advancing industrial engineering, and civil aviation systems, promoting tourism exchange, implementing humanitarian projects in Tashkent, and establishing agro-logistics centers and modern chemical capacities.
