Przewalski's horses brought to Kazakhstan for reintroduction

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan starts reintroducing the Przewalski's horses, vlast.kz reports.

Eight horses were brought to the "Altyn Dala" nature reserve from the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources says.

"40 horses will be reintroduced to in Amangeldy and Zhangeldy districts of Kostanay region as part of the international agreement between the two states," the Ministry noted.

The Przewalski's horse is an endangered horse originally native to the steppes of Central Asia. By 1969, there were no such horses in the wild, they were preserved only in captivity.
