AKIPRESS.COM - A team of doctors from the National Center for Cardiology and Therapy successfully performed the first transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) surgery on a 70-year-old patient on June 8.
The Ministry of Health said this event marks an important step in the development of high-tech medical care in the country.
The surgery was carried out using advanced technologies and under the guidance of doctors from the National Center for Cardiovascular Surgery and the National Scientific Cardiac Surgery Center of Astana, with the participation of the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantation, as well as the National Hospital of the Ministry of Health.
The TAVI is a minimally invasive alternative to aortic valve replacement surgery and can significantly reduce patient recovery time.
The patient successfully underwent surgery and is under medical supervision.
