AKIPRESS.COM - Reconstruction of the central stadium of Karakol city in Issyk-Kul region is underway.

The total area of the stadium is 5 hectares. The facility was built back in USSR for training of athletes in highland conditions.

The facility is regarded as sports and wellness center.

Director of the stadium Nurdan Jainov reported that reconstruction covers 3 football fields, with one of them becoming a hybrid one.

Two football fields will be used for training, one for hosting major sport events. The seats and bathrooms will be renovated, a parking space and jogging paths will be built.

The area will be fenced and lighting to be installed. The reconstruction is expected to finish by the fall 2024.
