
AKIPRESS.COM - Tokyo hosted an international conference on "Uzbekistan – Japan expert dialogue: strategic partnership in new conditions". It was organized by the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations and the Japan Institute of International Affairs with the support of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Japan, UzA reported.
The event brought together experts from the Japan Institute of International Affairs, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Japan External Trade Organization, and the universities of Tsukuba and Sophia.
Uzbekistan was represented by experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President, the International Institute for Central Asia, the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, and the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
The conference focused on the role of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Japan in the sustainable development of the Central Asian region, the search for new growth points, and promising areas of multifaceted interaction.
The experts discussed the development of trade relations, the procedures for Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization and the desire to create a favorable investment environment.
Uzbekistan supported the priority areas of practical interaction in Asia put forward by the Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, to achieve sustainable development and prosperity of our vast region.
They also considered cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the social sphere, including the possibilities of deepening interaction in science and education.
The next expert dialogue is proposed to be held in Tashkent.
