Foreign Ministry denies reports about Chinese military base in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - China does not have a military base on the territory of Tajikistan. This issue is not on the agenda of the Tajik-Chinese negotiations, the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said.

"With regard to the reports circulated by some media about China's alleged establishment of a military base on the territory of Tajikistan, we would like to state that they are groundless. This issue has not been and is not on the agenda of the Tajik-Chinese negotiations," the statement notes.

The Telegraph earlier reported about China's construction of a secret military base in Tajikistan near the border with Afghanistan.
