
AKIPRESS.COM - Acting Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Shokhrukh Gulamov met with the Thai delegation led by Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Busadee Santipitaks, UzA reports.
The delegation included heads of large Thai companies Samitivej Hospital, PTT Oil and Retail, Thai President Food, Siang Heng, Marine Tech International, CTI Logistics, and Anita Silk Company.
The Thai side expressed gratitude for providing a visa-free regime for citizens of Uzbekistan for up to 60 days.
The growth rate of mutual trade between the two countries shows positive results, the meeting participants said. The volume of mutual trade increased by 170% in the first half of this year. The importance of taking measures to increase the number of joint investment projects and bring trade turnover to $500 million shortly was noted.
The sides agreed to create a plan of joint measures for the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. These agreements, which include the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, tourism, the food industry, and the production of textiles and electrical products, hold significant potential for growth and development.
